QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional languages are an added advantage.
2. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all tasks.
3. Must have a thorough knowledge in all jobs within the Housekeeping Department.
4. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all responsibilities and tasks.
5. Must be able to maintain good relationships with all departments in the Hotel.
6. Must have a high degree of professional integrity and be able to work in a prudent and organized manner.
7. Must have a commitment to follow all local policies and procedures.
8. Computer Knowledge
9. Other Housekeeping related technical qualifications.

JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Summary :

To manage and monitor all attendants to ensure that guest rooms, corridors, all public areas and the landscaping are clean, tidy and well maintained. Responsible for assigning and checking the activities of attendants to ensure clean, orderly, attractive and well maintained guest rooms, service areas, public areas and landscaping under their control. Responsible for well-maintained guest rooms, service areas and supervising and coordinating the cleaning of all public areas and back of house areas i.e. lobby areas, restaurants, bars, banqueting facilities, offices, corridors, public toilets, hotel entrance & surrounding including the landscaping.

Responsibilities:

o All duties to be carried out in accordance with the SOP's.
o Maintain established standards of cleanliness, maintenance and customer services, in all areas under their control, including maids service, public area, gardener and fire exits etc
o To priorities and plan order of servicing to ensure supply of clean, sellable rooms to meet Front Office requirements
o To report and record all maintenance requirements and follow up on work completed
o Responsible for reporting immediately any matters of security to Security Officer
o Responsible for ensuring all maids and cleaners equipment are in a proper functional order. Reports any malfunctions to the assistant housekeeper
o To communicate to all staff under their control on a daily basis, new instructions information relevant to the business
o To carry out and record on job training to ensure continuity of established standards/re-training for guest satisfaction
o To control guest supplies, cleaning materials and equipment according to business levels
o To ensure all rooms in their control are serviced to standard and accounted for by the end of their shift, with handovers completed
o To be fully aware and comply at all times with health and safety, fire and security regulations
o To be fully responsible for keys entrusted to them
o To comply with company health & safety, and fire regulations and procedures.
o To undertake any other reasonable task/request by management
o Reports to assistant housekeeper any carpets, bedcovers, curtains, skirting, cushion covers and another other upholstery in need of change, repaid or cleaning
o Supervises, co-ordinates, and trains cleaners in cleaning all assigned areas, except those of the kitchen and stewarding.
o Responsible for signing in and out of all public area cleaners
o Reports to the executive housekeeper or assistant any problems or relevant information
o Checks for mistakes or inadequacies of personnel under his or her supervision and direct corrective action
o Ensures cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment used by his or her personnel
o Reports and follows up all maintenance and repair work
o Prepares work assignments for personnel under his or her supervision
o Delegates and checks any special assignments as assigned and required
o Reports and hands over to Housekeeping office all lost and found articles

To carry out any other Housekeeping Supervisor duties as may be assigned by your Superior.
