Job ResponsibilityThe Opportunity:
Dry Kiln Operators are responsible for measuring the moisture content of the lumber using various techniques and make the proper adjustments to the temperature, humidity and ventilation of the kilns to ensure the product reaches its specific moisture content requirements. Our technicians also maintain records and assist with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment in addition to loading and unloading lumber.
Required Skills:
1. Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
2. Available to work all shifts including days, nights and weekends
3. Minimum of 5 years related work experience
4. Good interpersonal skills and communication
5. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot
6. Enthusiastic, positive attitude
7. Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset
8. Knowledge of heating systems, kilns and other related power equipment would be an asset
