Job Description
Job Responsibility 1. Report to F & B Executive/Supervisors/Captains to receive instructions about the menu and to obtain checks for writing orders; familiarise self with menu, paying particular attention to "specials".
2. Set assigned tables: Spread clean linen and place glasses, condiment holders, flowers and silverware on table.
3. Receive guests and take orders; Assist F & B Executive/Supervisor/Captain to seat guests by pulling chairs away from table; distribute menus and fill glasses with iced water while guests decide upon order; write orders on check; answer questions about the food and menu and may make suggestions about various dishes and beverages.
4. Tell cooks of order; assemble food on tray, procuring items from each station or from central serving counter; carry tray to the Food Checker who prices items listed on check.
5. Serve meals: Place trays on a stand near the table being served; place dishes, by courses, in front of each person, serving from the left of the patron; replenish water and butter. An efficient worker places dishes in front of each guest in such a manner that the guest can start to eat immediately upon being served.
6. Remove soiled dishes; procure and serve dessert; may place finger bowls in front of each guest.
7. Give check to guests when they have finished eating, and either receive immediate payment (in which case it is taken to the Cashier), or permit customers or guests to sign credit documents.
8. All the various services provided to guest must be done with utmost courtesy.
9. Mix and pour drinks to order, receive payment or charge vouchers.
10. Maintain bar in neat, clean and attractive condition and keep stocks in prescribed manner.
11. Prepare and pour drinks and serve customers.
12. Stock service bars and serves catered parties.
13. Wash glasses and other bar accessories and equipment.
14. Take inventory and maintain record of popularity of drinks.
15. Review types of drinks and stock popular brands and kind.
16. Prepare garnishes for mixed drinks.
17. Clean, sweep and vacuum the floors and carpet in all the food and beverage outlets.
18. To perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor, Head of Department or the Management of the Hotel.
