Assist the veterinarian in treatment of the patients.
Provide physiotherapy when required and instructed by veterinarian.
Walk patients at least twice a day or as directed
Give medications as prescribed by the veterinarian
Ensure the ward area, isolation room, consultation rooms and pharmacy are kept clean
Make sure every diagnostic equipment that is used is clean so as not to affect the accuracy of the results of the tests.
Monitor stock of controlled drugs, other medications and instruments in the clinic
Place order with the head office once stock of drugs is low.
Assist veterinarians to dispense and label medication as instructed.
Prepare surgical instruments and gowns in the surgery room
Update patient records with laboratory results and other relevant information such as drug dispensed when instructed by veterinarian.
Set up appointments with clients for follow-up cases and vaccination and heartworm prevention boosters.
Requirements
Diploma in Animal Health and Production
Certificate in Veterinary Nursing
STPM holders may be considered
Experience working with animal is beneficial
Effective communication skills
Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information and documents
