Job Responsibility3rd Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
o Responsible for the serviceability and general cleanliness of the diesel generators.
o The safekeeping and condition of all spares for these engines, and the maintenance of a record of overhauls and repairs.
o The maintenance of other machinery as decided by the Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.
o Ensuring that his watch is conducted in an efficient manner.
o Rendering all possible assistance to the Second Engineer in the execution of his duties.
o To decide necessary action to be taken during his watch to avoid potentially hazardous situations.
o The efficient maintenance and upkeep of all the pumps, air compressors, air receivers, pipelines and air starting system together with the maintenance of an adequate supply of spare parts for the above equipment. Any defects or shortage of spare parts will be reported immediately to the Second Engineer.
