- Contact businesses or private individuals by telephone in order to solicit sales for goods or services, or to request donations for charitable causes.
- Explain products or services and prices, and answer questions from customers.
- Obtain names and telephone numbers of potential customers from sources such as telephone directories, magazine reply cards, and lists purchased from other organizations.
- Answer enquiries from potential customers who have been solicited through advertisements.
- Draft or write letters to respond to correspondence from customers or to follow up initial sales contacts.
- Maintain a good and systematic records of contacts
- Schedule appointments for sales representatives to meet with prospective customers or for customers to attend sales presentations.
- Deliver prepared sales talks, reading from scripts that describe products or services, in order to persuade potential customers to purchase a product or service or to make a donation via telephone
- Proven experience as telemarketer or similar sales/customer service role
- Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quotas preferably over the phone
- Working knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in English
- Skilled in negotiation and dealing with complaints
- Persistent and results-oriented
- Patient and able to handle customer rejection
- Willingness to learn about products and services specifications and benefits
- Great interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Candidate must possess at least a SPM
