About the Job:
We are looking for trustworthy, experienced and proactive engineering managers with more than 5 years' engineering experience and proven leadership skills. Your focus will be on people, delivery, technical and product/service leadership. You will lead and grow high performing technology talent and teams, provide exceptional stakeholder management and be accountable for building, delivering, and maintaining our products or internal systems & services. Multiple vacancies are available including Front-end, Back-end, Mobile (Flutter) or Full-stack.
Job Requirement
People
o Direct line management. Accountable for managing individual performance and professional growth, including personal development and/or leadership capabilities via coaching and mentoring
o Direct management of a team(s). Create and maintain a high performing team culture that embraces delivery, ownership, teamwork, learning and continual improvement. Maintaining the wellbeing of the team by fostering safety, inclusivity, fun and diversity of thought is essential.
o Lead recruitment and onboarding of permanent and contractor team members in line with VIMIGO's hiring process
o Lead through change, applying VIMIGO's change principles to deliver effective change management
Delivery
o Lead cross functional software development team(s) to deliver exceptional customer outcomes with urgency, quality and at scale
o Facilitation of regular engagement and communication with broad stakeholder groups including Leadership Team's, steering committees, and executives to ensure that system / service / platform health, ongoing development and any risks/issues are visible and well understood by stakeholders
o Manage the balance of time, scope, cost, and quality for team owned projects and programs. Deliver outcomes safely, predictably, and smoothly in a complex environment
o Embed effective agile practices within your team
o Lead the setting and alignment of Team, Product, Service or Performance Reward, connecting strategy to delivery in partnership with Partners and Stakeholders
o Have a great understanding of the customers your team(s) serve, putting their needs at the centre of all engineering development, guiding priorities based on where impact can be most significant
Technology
o Ensure services /systems / platforms are fit for purpose, well architected and follow current VIMIGO development practices
o Maintain services / system / platform health in accordance with customer experience, security, performance, availability, maintainability, deployability and efficiency measures.
o Develop and maintain technical roadmaps to communicate and guide the evolution of services /systems / platforms
o Discover and collaborate with Technical Leaders and the wider Technical Community to assess and implement new methodologies and technologies
o Custodianship for the systems we build or buy, within your team's ownership. Ensuring systems that you own, serve their intended purpose whilst being performant (Customer Experience), well run and maintained (Operations), suit the larger eco-system (Architecture), are secure (Security) and cost efficient (Cost)
So, what we are looking for?
o Prior experience working in SME would be considered ideal
o Prior experience working in a global context with companies recognised as adopting world class software development / engineering / delivery practices, would be highly regarded
o Experience leading remote teams in a multi-country / location or matrixed environment would be desirable
o Familiarity with different culture norms and practises, particularly within Asia would be highly desirable
o Prior experience in a leadership role in one of the following technology areas is required:
Delivery/Engineering Management
o Software Development / Engineering / Data Engineering / Software Architecture / Quality Assurance
o IT Service Management or IT Business Analysis / Iteration Management
o Data Science, Ontology or Optimisation
