Job ResponsibilityRole Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Operations (Digital Delivery), East Asia will:
o Provide an end-to-end service to project teams for designing, planning and delivering the digital elements in Cultural Engagement (which is made up of Arts, Education and English) Programmes.
o Support and advise project teams, across 14 countries in East Asia, on corporate business standards and compliance needs, including safeguarding, information governance & risk management, digital and intellectual property issues, procurement and contracting suppliers.
o Develop the programme management and digital delivery skills of project teams so that project managers increase their knowledge, expertise and confidence in reaching audiences effectively.
o Connect and broker complex relationships on behalf of project teams, with internal teams and sources of advice, knowledge and policy that support and influence digital delivery, e.g. with the marketing & communications, central Digital team, GIS (Global Information Services), procurement, information governance & risk management, and safeguarding
Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:
Leadership & Management
o Sets, manages and prioritises a rolling workplan of support to project teams. Works with project teams to set a quarterly regional support workplan for the delivery and digital element of the programmes. Tracks delivery requirements across the region and plans resourcing around needs.
o Works as part of a global community of operations and digital experts, promoting learning, best practice and ensuring that practical experience informs the production of new systems, processes and business standards; and use of technology to help drive future innovation.
o Identify and further develop the skills, knowledge and experience (including digital) in the region through training inputs, mentoring and advice.
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
o Commissions and collates advice and guidance from the range of internal sources relating to delivery approaches and takes this forward with project teams, including marketing & communications, Digital team, GIS (Global Information Services), procurement, information governance & risk management, and safeguarding.
o Ensures that the central development of products, processes and approaches is informed by the practical experience of project delivery teams.
Operational Delivery
o Is a team player and provides operational support to the East Asia operations team including the management and maintenance of information and knowledge management and collaboration platforms
o Works alongside project teams to ensure that project design incorporates practical and effective approaches that meet digital audience targets.
o Works within a project team to manage and support the delivery of a range of external digital approaches including webinars, conferences, seminars, and training and learning events.
o Provides technical expertise to procurement and contracting of digital suppliers by project teams, including negotiation of terms of reference and payment terms.
Risk & Compliance
o Supports and advises on the achievement of and compliance with all business standards including safeguarding, contracting, Information governance & risk management, and intellectual property.
Service Delivery
o Manages the delivery of internal digital events for learning and information provision in the region.
o Manges the delivery of external digital events including negotiations or planning with external participating partners and stakeholders (i.e. design, compliance, briefings on use of platforms, etc.)
Analysis & Reporting
o Supports and advises project teams on collection and collation of digital data in support of monitoring and evaluation

Role specific knowledge and experience:
o Experience of working on large-scale programmes or projects.
o Experience of working in a large, diverse, complex organisation with a matrix structure
o Experience of leading and managing digital events and channels for internal and external audiences
Role specific skills:
o Highly proficient in using office 365 applications, SharePoint and other British council collaboration tools and platforms for meetings and events.
o Demonstrable expertise in programme management and managing data
o Knowledge of planning and delivering the digital elements of programmes.

Requirements:
o The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required to CEF Level C1 English
o Degree and/or digital equivalent experience
o Additional job requirement: Some work outside conditioned hours will be required due to project delivery schedules.
