Job ResponsibilityWork Location: Kuala Lumpur
Requirements:
o A bachelor's degree in Geophysics or Geoscience or equivalent with at least 15 years of
working experience in the oil & gas industry as a geophysicist.
o The candidate must have at least ten years of experience in various operating
environments,
preferably with international operators.
o The candidate must be familiar with using geological, geophysical, petrophysical and
engineering data and have experience in attribute analysis, velocity modelling, depth
conversion and visualization software.
Overall Responsibility:
o The successful candidate will require to perform the following:
o Analyse, interpret, and integrate geophysical data to build/assess models
o Support the subsurface team in managing the evaluation, exploration, development, and
exploitation
o Analyse all the available geophysical data applicable
o Design data acquisition plans.
o Liaise with Operators and partners on geophysical studies, well planning, and field
development.
o Prepare geological prognoses and drilling programs for operated and non-operated wells.
o Monitor effective and efficient performance of various Geophysical activities.
o Undertake 2-D / 3-D/ 4-D seismic interpretation, mapping, depth conversion and seismic
attribute analysis using specialized software/workstations to identify drillable economic
prospects.
o Monitor / follow/recommend AVO, Inversion or any special studies.
o Provide prospect risking and volumetric/reserve calculations
o Recommend geophysical studies when required
o Participate in evaluating geological and reservoir models using PC-based software.
o Write technical reports in conjunction with the subsurface team members.
o Prepare prospect/lead inventory and prospect/lead ranking.
o Recommend borehole geophysical logging programs to identify critical horizons and
reservoirs
