Job ResponsibilityPerform daily monitoring of RDBMS production logs and email alerts to detect errors or issues for the databases and database servers.
Able to support DBA role for PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL.
Prepare and update the documentation procedures for DB technical process.
Develop, update & enhance the script used for Daily repetitive task.
Review all errors seen in DB error log and fix problem.
To log service request with respective DB vendors for solutions required.
Carry out database backup and restorations as and when needed.
Familiar with the database native backup methods.
Ability to monitor and troubleshoot database native replication such as Oracle Dataguard and MSSQL Always On.
Ability to monitor and troubleshoot database cluster services such as Oracle RAC and MSSQL Cluster
Ability to monitor and administrate Oracle ASM storage.
Analyse DB growth trends and project storage threshold and provide reports to storage admin. Monitor and identify efficiency of DB & online recovery log files and enhance to meet growth requirements.
Monitor and identify DB network component for efficiency and update parameter when necessary. Ability to carry out extractions and deployments on databases in accordance to the process and governance defined. Ability to extract AWR reports
Experience in Installation, Store and Support Should be mid-level DB skillset
Responsible for understanding operational requirements including Hardware, Architecture, configuration, Integration and maintaining mission-critical Production PostgreSQL databases. Responsible for all Logical and Physical backup & recovery even PITR recovery Manage Clusters and upgrading/migrating various PostgreSQL database version.
Performance Tuning, Replication, and develop database automation scripts and maintenance. Provide technical guidance for integration, testing, design, development, planning of new production systems/databases
Key Responsibilities Must be able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities Take lead in identifying and fixing (RCA) all high and medium incidents Be part of Problem management calls and co-ordinate with application teams for all high and medium incidents Perform database installations, migrations, patches, and upgrades Implement problem detection and prevention strategies to reduce database issues and improve service quality Perform production support administration tasks including proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, tracing, backup, recovery, and on-call support to ensure availability and performance requirements are achieved
