Job ResponsibilityNavigational Charts and Publications
o Ensures required navigational charts are complete, in good order and updated prior to the start of the voyage
o Ensures nautical publications and other relevant operational publications are available and updated appropriately
Navigational Equipment
o In charge of the routine maintenance of all navigational equipment
o Defects of any navigational equipment to be brought to the attention of the Master immediately
Safety Equipment
o Updates the ship's emergency Muster List
o In charge of the maintenance and inspection of all safety equipment and reports immediately any defects to the Chief Officer and/or the Master
Medical and Sanitation Matters
o Assistant to the Medical officer (Master/Officer) in term of giving initial treatment to the injured person.
o Ensure all medicines are current and labels all medicines clearly indicating brand / generic names and directions for use and dosage
