Job ResponsibilityResponsibilities:-
o Overseeing staff members and ensuring the accurate and timely invoicing of customers.
o Setting payment collection goals and targets for the department.
o Creating and implementing a strategy to improve the collection of outstanding credit.
o Implementing collection policies and procedures to avoid excessive outstanding credit.
o Ensuring that the company policy on recoveries is followed and that it is in line with state and federal regulations.
o Implementing deadlines for invoicing and payment collection.
o Negotiating with customers in cases when non-payment occurs.
o Preparing monthly feedback reports on payment collections.
o Remaining informed of any legislative procedural training regarding debt collection.
o Training and mentoring of staff members in the collections department.
o Continually evaluate internal processes and improve the control of inventory.
o Work fluidly in a cross functional team environment involving manufacturing, product development, buyers, logistics and finance.
o Able to work in a fast-paced environment with limited structure and hierarchy.
Requirements:-
o Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
o 3-5 year's experience as a collections manager.
o Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Myob Accounting System and General Ledger and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
o The ability to work accurately and independently.
o Good verbal and written communication skills.
o Excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail.
o Outstanding leadership and managerial skills.
o Strong time and people management skills.
o Ability to work to strict deadlines.
