- Conducting research and analysis on topics such as environmental impact, pollution prevention techniques, and government regulations related to environmental issues
- Preparing reports, maps, charts, and other documentation detailing findings from inspections or research projects
- Maintaining records of environmental data and samples collected during investigations
- Recommending changes in laws or regulations based on findings from research projects or investigations
