We are looking for a Senior Software Developer who, has a great attitude, is dedicated to the craft, writes code that they are proud of and can hit the ground running. The current products being developed are a Web-Based Information System and an Educational Game Product.
What does a Senior Software Developer do?
You are required to liaise with the Product Lead to translate Design to Code. You will also help manage the Junior and Intern team members to assign them their tasks and see to their completion.
A Senior Developer writes beautiful, maintainable, scalable code, in a timely manner. You will be a part of a full-stack creative team that is responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development from the initial specification, through to developing, testing and launching.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable, scalable code
- Translate design to code
- Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Follow industry best practices
- Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary
- Liaise and work with the Product Lead
- Guide, lead, nurture junior and intern developers
- Teach others as well as learn from others
Job RequirementsRequirements
- Software development experience either in Web technology or Gaming
- Programming for the Web
- Understanding of more than 1 programming language
- SQL or MySQL
- Git
- Unit Testing
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX etc
- Knowledge of Linux
- Not required but an advantage
- PHP Laravel
- LUA Programming
- Other technologies (AWS, Google CE, GitLab, Docker, etc)
- Knows how to get around a Linux system
- Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas
