Job ResponsibilityJob Description
o Generating sample designs using computer-aided design (CAD), card models, sketches or hard prototypes.
o Preparing detailed final designs.
o Keeping informed about design trends and developments.
o Studying, researching and planning various styles of furniture design.
o Evaluating issues such as pricing and fixing costs, fashion, purchasing, safety, materials and manufacturing methods and techniques.
o Using various tools to complete projects from raw materials to finished furniture items;
o Attending workshops, seminars and training on various types of manufacturing and furniture design.
o Organizing plans and schedules with respect to the availability of resources.
o Selecting suitable materials, which might include wood, metal, plastic and textiles.
o Liaising with production staff about the process of manufacture.
o Finding ways to improve furniture items already manufactured;
o To conduct furniture related in house product testing.
o To ensure accurate record on the packing methods and carton size.
o To update and maintain the product Bill of Material (BOM) record.
Job Requirement
o A bachelor's or master's degree in fine arts with a concentration in furniture design.
o Prefer candidate with at least 1-3 years Furniture related background.
