Job Description

Job Responsibility
  • Assist site leadership in the implementation and interpretation of the companies Health, Safety and
  • Environment (HSE) programs and processes
  • Assist site leadership to ensure regulatory compliance of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and
  • Industry Recommended Practices (IRP) are met
  • Understand, utilize and promote the use of the companies HSE manual and requirements
  • Ensure site Emergency Response plans are in place and updated on company SharePoint
  • Ensure Safety Watch for Critical Operations are in effect and supported
  • Work with service providers to inspect and maintain safety equipment
  • Promote awareness of hazard/risk identification by coaching crews to ensure effective Standard
  • Operating Procedures (SOP), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) reviews and discussions are had
  • Encourage and recognize effective use of Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRA)
  • Encourage and recognize effective use of safety reporting
  • Facilitate hazard hunts
  • Encourage and recognize individuals/groups for positive safety behaviors
  • Participate in Rig Inspections exercises
  • Track and Report site KPI's
  • Assist site leadership and crews in hazard identification, for lowering the risk tolerances and interventions, and, conduct effective safety meetings
  • Ensure all incidents are reported to both project management and HSE. Complete initial incident reports; assist site leadership in incident investigation including root cause/contributing factors and entry into executive support system (ESS) data base system

Job Requirements
  • Solid understanding of rig operations (drilling, workover, well services and plug and abandonment)
  • Relevant safety certification
  • Have at least 15 years of oil & gas safety experience.
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and data base system)
  • Understanding and experience with operations
  • Ability to work a varying schedule
  • Must work well with others and be able to manage various individuals and personalities
  • Experience mentoring individuals
