Job ResponsibilityMain Responsibilities and Duties
1. To establish policies and procedures relating to the activities under the Medical Record Department.
2. To supervise and monitor the day to day operation of the Medical Record Department.
3. To ensure the safe and complete compilation safekeeping and disposal of Medical Records in accordance with the Archives Act.
4. To ensure proper recording and maintenance of birth and death related documents in the hospital.
5. To provide monthly statistical report e.g. Racial Breakdown of Patient, Bed Days, Occupancy Rates, etc of the hospital.
6. To prepare in preparing the monthly inpatient returns in E-reporting format using the ICD-10 coding system and Procedure Code for submission to Ministry of Health.
7. To prepare and submit all statutory reporting to the relevant government bodies.
8. To handle all internal and external request for medical records.
9. To brief subordinates and colleagues on the Medical Records Department's system.
10. Liaise with government bodies pertaining to medical records, birth and death related documents.
11. To update own self and the hospital on any new development on the areas of Medical Records.
12. To advise and update the CEO, Head of Division and Head of Department on matters related to Medical Records.
13. To maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
14. To perform any other reasonable duties as and when assigned by the management
Job Specification
1. Bachelor in Information Science/ Record Management
2. Minimum 2-3 years of working experience
3. Strong interpersonal skill and high initiative
