Job Responsibility
LEAD, PROCESS & FACILITIES ENGINEERING
Position Summary
Manages a team of engineers and analyst, to support KBB operation routine, facility improvement,
process engineering, process optimization and process safety assurance. Directs the management of
alarm, PSSR and process hardware barrier integrity, including delivery of corresponding KPOC wide
strategies, and work processes/procedures. Commands the implementation of assurance activities, to
ensure the operational integrity of the KBB topsides process and facility.
Principle Accountabilities
1. To ensure all technical content of KBB operation design is complete, cohesive, and maintained
within the currently approved KBB Safety Case. Additionally, ensure the quality of technical
documentation and staff work is maintained at a high level.
2. To support KBB operations in achieving production targets while operating within the specified Safe
Operating Limits and Operating Envelopes through active daily engagement with offshore
operations.
3. To ensure proposed changes or modifications are technically reviewed across all applicable
engineering disciplines and within the context of the safety case and follow approved MOC
procedures.
4. To strategize optimizing platform process operational parameters to ensure peak efficiency of the
facilities.
5. To command and provide monthly reporting on the KPOC Process Safety Metrics and SCE
management.
6. To nominate team member(s) as process/facility technical reviewer to the equipment selection
panel and to manage the audit trail of equipment and material selection to meet project and/or
maintenance quality requirements.
7. As Technical Authority 2 for Process/Facility Engineering, to manage the assigned Safety Critical
Element(s) (SCE(s)) integrity and derogations and performance standard review. To report the
assigned SCE(s) performance on quarterly basis.
8. To plan and manage the expenditure of all Process/Facility related integrity, maintenance and
monitoring services and activities. To report the Process/Facility related operational expenditure
(OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) on monthly basis and to submit budgetary requests for
Work Program and Budget (WPB) on yearly basis.
9. To manage Process/Facility Engineering team members performance by driving the yearly
departmental KPIs, evaluation of achievements by half-yearly basis and to address key gaps with
documented action plans for each individual member.
10. To drive and eventually delegate contract responsibility of the Process/Facility Master Procurement
Plan for KPOC.
11. As Technical Authority 2, to manage the Process/Facility Engineering technical compliance against
DEM1, DEM2 and DCAF, for both project and operation domains. To report Process/Facility
Engineering technical compliance on quarterly basis.
12. As Technical Authority 2, to technically approve all Process/Facility Engineering related PSUA and
PSSR close out actions, prior to process start up.
13. To support on demand basis, maintenance execution work and project implementation, pertaining
to Asset Integrity scope of work.
Requirements
1. Qualifications:
o Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
o At least 8 years of experience in an engineering role supporting operations and/or projects.
2. Requirements:
o Self-starter able to develop strategies and tactics with regards to onshore and offshore
support for KPOC and the KBB facilities
o Team Player able to develop a strong relationship with all functions in the KPOC team,
comfortable working in a multi-company, multi- cultural environment.
o Promotes knowledge sharing - sharing
o KPOC experiences and seeking knowledge from the shareholders.
o Previous experience in a multi-discipline engineering team in Operations environment.
o Familiar with Safety Case management and maintenance.
o Solid understanding of management of
o Process Safety and use of Management of Change work processes.
o Previous supervisory experience in upstream operations.
o Skilled and experienced in upstream Process Engineering and Process Safety.
3. Experienced in working with production operations and engineering for facility modifications.
4. Skilled in Process Engineering and Process Safety with a focus on offshore oil and gas
processing.
5. Able to manage a group of multi-discipline engineers in both Operations and Engineering.
6. Has shown potential for leadership skills.
7. Must be willing to relocate to Kota Kinabalu and serve on the Emergency Coordination Team.
8. Priority to Sabahan applicants.
