Job ResponsibilityJob Description:
o Help Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) establish cooperative relationship with foreign universities:
-For the purpose of establishing the cooperation between XMUM and the partner universities of Xiamen University China (XMU), liaison with XMU partner universities around the world, such as Newcastle University (UK), Southampton University (UK), Cardiff University (UK), University of Edinburgh (UK), University of Hull (UK), University of Le Harvre (France), North Carolina State University (US), Australian National University (Australia), and Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand):
-Prepare cooperation agreements or other relevant documents after attending meetings and negotiations;
-Manage the student exchange programmes between XMUM and the partner universities of XMU in accordance with mutually agreed policies; monitor the status of student exchange programmes and respond to related issues in a timely manner; work with the Student Affairs Office to manage the student application for the student exchange programmes and to help exchange students smoothly adapt to the new study environment;
-Manage the academic staff exchange between XMUM and the partner universities; work with the Office of Academic Affairs and HR department of XMUM to choose the suitable faculty members to send to the partner universities and to receive the faculty members from partner universities according to XMUM academic calendar and course schedule; monitor the status of academic staff exchange and promptly respond to any related issues;
-Coordinate the cooperation in terms of academic programme development; help bring the relevant faculty members of XMUM and partner universities together to explore possible areas of joint programme development; facilitate the formulation of detailed plans and their implementation; monitor the progress of programme development and promptly respond to any related issues;
-Facilitate the collaboration in academic research; help organize the meeting between relevant faculty members of XMUM and partner universities to discuss possible areas of collaboration; provide administrative support for the development of research initiatives.
o Provide guidance to the acculturation of international students:
-Help international students make a smooth transition to their study in Malaysia;
-Help students from China adapt to the living and studying environment in Malaysia.
o Responsible for liaison with international and local media:
-Liaison with news media, such as newspapers, magazines and TV stations, in UK and China. Invite them to visit XMUM campus for shooting, arrange and coordinate their visit, and follow up with their news reporting or documentary programmes.
-Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets and advertising agencies in Malaysia. Coordinate site visit and shooting by news media at XMUM. Liaison with them to maintain a good working relationship.
-Regularly prepare and distribute media release content to newspapers, magazine, TV stations, etc.; prepare English versions for English media and Chinese versions for Chinese media.
o Responsible for the production of promotional materials of XMUM:
-Collaborate with publicity team at XMU China to produce English version brochures, flyers and videos with information on XMU China.
-Collaborate with public relations department at XMU China to develop joint media projects.
-Collaborate with academic staffs, office of academic affairs and office of student recruitment to come up with content proposal for promotional materials, such as e-newsletters, student handbooks, brochures, flyers, information display panels, advertisements.
