Job description:
Summary of Job Activities / Scope
i) Perform work related to the upkeep and maintenance of the Steam Boiler system. Minimising downtime and avoiding lost of production hours due to the Boiler breakdown. Inventory maintenance of Boiler Chemicals.
ii) Principal Duties / Responsibilities
a) Operation of Steam Boilers
b) Ensure efficient operation of Steam Boilers. Production processes such as Printing, Extrusion and Dry required steam for the functioning of its Dryers.
c) Preventive Maintenance
d) To schedule and implement periodic preventive maintenance so as to reduce unexpected Boiler downtime, to maintain the consistency of Boiler performance, to lengthen the Boiler life and to avoid lost of production and reduces maintenance cost.
e) Breakdown Maintenance
To carry out minor repairs of Boiler whenever Boiler breakdown. Otherwise, the Engineering personnel shall be call upon for the repair.
f) Inventory Control To have a proper Boiler Chemicals Inventory Control System so as to ensure immediate availability of these chemicals. To make monthly inventory reports of these chemicals. Carry out chemical mixing and dosing as required. To also ensure sufficient quantity of fuel oil available for continuous operation of Boiler. To issue Purchase Requisition for fuel oil and chemicals as when required.
g) General Cleanliness and Maintenance
To ensure a safe, comfortable and clean working area by periodic maintenance of the areas in and surrounding the Boiler House.
h) Maintenance Report, Data and Recording
i) Data collection and recording pertaining to the operation of the Steam Boiler.
Others
1) Any other tasks as assigned by the Engineering & Innovation Section Head whenever necessary
2) To report anything related to Food Safety Management System (FSSC22000) such as microbe, physical or chemical contamination issue to Section Head.
3) To assist engineering technician for carry out equipment preventive maintenance.
4) To carry preventive maintenance for the utilities equipment (Fresh air filter etc)
Education Requirements
a) Minimum Boilerman Grade 2 Certificate.
b) Training and Experience Requirement :At least 2 years related working experience.
