Job ResponsibilityCargo vehicle drivers operate vehicles such as trucks and vans. They may also take care of the loading and unloading of cargo.
Responsibilities
o Run official errands, including delivery goods to customer, collection & delivery of materials.
o despatch of correspondence and documents in regard to the company.
o Drive the vehicles for conveyance of staff, materials and equipment in connection with the activities of the company.
o Ensure that goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner and check for damages and quantity.
o Clean and wash the vehicles on a regular basis as to maintain them in a tidy condition and maintain the vehicles in good running condition at all times.
o Check fuel level & credit balance of touch & go in vehicles before and after each errand and ensure timely replenishment of fuel level within office hours.
o Assist staff in the loading/unloading, movement and handling of finished goods, documents materials and other requirement from and to the vehicle.
o Any other responsibilities assigned by management.
o Perform any other duties when required.
o Maintain knowledge of local and interstate routes.
o Monitor road, traffic and whether condition and take alternate routes where required.
o Deliver goods and install to their destination and take customer's signature on receipts.
o Inform origin of delivery status and any additional information, such as customer complaints.
o Perform preventative and regular maintenance on lorry and ensure that vehicles fluids are sufficient.
o Report any serious mechanical problem to the concerned individual within the company.
o Clean and polish lorry and ensure that everything is in good working order.
o Vehicle shall twice a year for JPJ inspection, ensure Clean and wash the vehicles on a regular basis as to maintain them in a tidy condition and maintain the vehicles in good running condition.
