We are looking for a Category Buyer (Health Food) to order supplies and equipment based on our company's needs.
Category Buyer (Health Food) responsibilities include research for new/potential vendors, sourcing of poison items and negotiating for the best or most cost-effective deals. If you're familiar with supply chain procedures and know-how to create and translate cost analyses, we'd like to meet you.
Ultimately, you will make cost-effective purchases and ensure we maintain a fully stocked inventory.
Responsibilities
o Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
o Research potential vendors and source for new suppliers
o Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
o Sourcing of health food items and negotiating for the best or most cost-effective deals
o Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
o Prepare cost analyses
o Track orders and ensure timely delivery
o Updating and maintaining records of internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
o Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
o Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
o Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
Requirements
o Candidate must possess at least SPM / Diploma in any field
o Has proven work experience as a purchaser (health food) or similar role
o Great communication and interpersonal abilities
o Candidates fluent in Mandarin preferred as the role require the candidate to deal with Mandarin speaking suppliers/vendors.
o Good understanding of supply chain procedures
o Hands-on experience with purchasing software
o Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
o Knowledge of market research
o Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
o Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
o Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
o Positive work attitude and willingness to learn
o Very good organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
o Candidate must be punctual, discipline, matured, honest, good health, friendly, and non-smoker.
