Job ResponsibilityDirector of Rooms is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of guest services, valet services, concierge and uniformed services, housekeeping, laundry, and communications in an attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous manner. The Director of Rooms is also overall responsible for providing all guests with quality service while maximizing room revenue and productivity, and developing managers and employees.
Overseeing the cleanliness of the hotel's public areas, such as lobbies, hallways, and stairwells, to ensure they meet the standards of the hotel's brand
Managing the staff of room attendants who clean guest rooms, including hiring, training, scheduling shifts, monitoring performance, and disciplining employees when necessary
Ensuring that all guests are greeted warmly at check-in and check-out, in accordance with company standards for customer service
Working with housekeeping supervisors to ensure that housekeepers are properly trained on how to clean different types of rooms and equipment correctly
Scheduling the cleaning staff's shifts to ensure coverage throughout all hours in which the hotel is open
Supervising the cleaning staff to ensure that they perform their duties effectively and efficiently
Reviewing the condition of guest rooms after each cleaning and providing feedback to housekeeping supervisors about any issues that need to be addressed
Reviewing incoming guest reviews to identify opportunities for improvement in the guest experience
Maintaining a log of guest comments regarding their experiences with the hotel's services or facilities in order to identify potential issues with staff performance or facility
