Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
Use computer software to write programs, establish sequence of operations, model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
Check completed programs by running simulations or test
Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
Select proper tools/fixtures/attachments required to cut materials and program machines accordingly
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
Supervise the operators in the machining department
Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs
Requirements
Minimum 3-4 years of machining centre experience and knowledge
Read and interpret technical drawing
Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required
Must have strong attention to detail
Able to use NX program for programming purposes
